We may refuse to buy back any denomination of foreign currency notes that we don’t sell or that have a value of less than £1. Please take a look at our terms and conditions for full details.
You can sell back currency up to the value of £2,500 online using our Swiss francs buy-back service. To sell back more, you’ll need to visit us in a participating store.
We can’t accept coins, damaged notes or notes with an individual value below £1. We also can’t accept some small denomination notes of certain currencies.

No – regardless of where you purchased your currency from, you can exchange it back via M&S Travel Money.
We only accept current, valid and usable notes. Any forged notes, outdated, outmoded or unusable notes will not be exchanged and may be retained. We reserve the right to refuse to buy back any denomination of foreign currency notes that we do not sell or that have a value of less than £1. Yes, you will need to bring ID to change Swiss francs to pounds. You can bring a passport, full/provisional UK or EU photo card driving licence, or a National ID card.
We can't accept any other forms of identification, and you will need to collect your pounds in person. We will need to see an original valid ID document, so bear in mind that we can’t accept pictures, photocopies, or ID that has expired.
When you collect your pounds, we’ll securely record information from your ID within our systems to ensure we’re compliant with our internal fraud controls.
