What you need to know about the Mauritian Rupee currency
Introduced in 1876, the Mauritian Rupee replaced three currencies: the Indian Rupee, the Mauritius Dollar, and the British Pound. Its currency code is MUR and its currency symbols are Re (singular) and Rs (plural). Each Rupee contains 100 Cents.
The Mauritian currency comes in both coins and banknotes.
