Buy Travel Money FAQs
Online, you can order a minimum of £150 worth of currency and a maximum of £2,500 worth.
When you buy currency with M&S Travel Money, you can choose to Click and Collect your order or buy it in a participating store.
Click and Collect orders are usually ready to pick up from your chosen location on the same day and can be as little as 60 seconds* (subject to store opening hours and stock availability), or up to seven days after your purchase. You’ll get a handy email notifying you when your Travel Money is ready for collection.
*In selected stores, there is a 4pm cut off for same day orders.
Yes, it’s definitely worth taking cash in the local currency when travelling, not least for tipping. Not all vendors accept card payments, and even if they do, you may be faced with transaction fees. Likewise, ATMs may either be unavailable at your destination or present poorer exchange rates and transaction fees.
Having local currency to hand gives you flexibility and peace of mind. Remember to buy your holiday money before you travel, as this gives you a better chance of securing favourable exchange rates.
Here's what you need to bring when you collect your order:

The payment card you paid with (we reserve the right to PIN authenticate the card through our systems. There is no additional charge for this).

Your email order confirmation (either print it off or show us on a smart device).

Proof of identification. Any of these are acceptable:
✓ Passport.
✓ Full/provisional UK or EU photo card driving licence.
✓ National ID card.
We can't accept any other forms of identification, and you will need to collect your order in person.
We will need to see an original valid ID document, so pictures, photocopies, or an expired ID will not be accepted.
On collecting your order, information from your ID will be securely recorded within our systems to ensure we are compliant with our internal fraud controls.
